Meal Planning – October 2020

October 1, 2020

It’s October 1st, and I know what’s for dinner. For the entire month ahead.

I can’t promise that I will follow through and make every single meal listed here and on the correct night, but it feels really good to have a plan in place.

As I explain in my meal planning guide, I begin each month by selecting a theme for each day of the week. For October 2020, the planning process looked like this…

Coach eats with his players on Sunday nights, so I love to make a bowl of soup, usually with a little sandwich on the side. Mondays are (in my world, at least) the perfect day for slow cooker recipes because it takes me that extra day to get the week up and running. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are nights that Coach always eats at home, so red meat (his favorite) and pasta (to carb load him a little before very intense, stressful, exhausting weekends) seem like a good fit. Thursdays I’m on my own, so I’m definitely not cooking something big – leftovers, it is. I haven’t created a day for white meats and fish, so I put them on Friday. And Saturdays are for football, so anything goes when it comes to food and meals and eating.

I’ve created a place here on MeAndCoach.com to post and save recipes that are our family favorites, so I will try to share as many as I can get photographed and written up. If you choose to try one, I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback.

Have a great month of meals, and bon appétit!

With love and hugs,

Ashli

I love to meal plan, but I’m not near as consistent as I should be!! Hopefully after our move I will get settled into a better routine! 🙂

I say baby steps are still steps in the right direction 😉 Moving is such a huge task by itself – the meal planning will come along as you get settled and life feels more normal again! Thanks so much for sharing 💛
