In his post-victory press conference last night, Philip addressed his belief that one of our linebackers, redshirt junior Zaven Collins, should be on the Heisman Trophy ballot.
It’s something he’s mentioned at home for a while now, and he’s not wrong.
“The Heisman Memorial Trophy (usually known colloquially as the Heisman Trophy or The Heisman), is awarded annually to the most outstanding player in NCAA football. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work. It is presented by the Heisman Trophy Trust in early December before the postseason bowl games.” (Source: Wikipedia)
ABILITY | DILIGENCE | PERSEVERENCE
Those adjectives describe Zaven to a T – he is hard-working, humble, smart as a whip, curious, capable, loving and kind, an incredible friend, and an unbelievable son.
Oh, and he is also one lights-out-how-does-he-do-that fabulous, football player.
I’ll be back to share more about his character, his journey, his aspirations, and, of course, his football experience.
For now, will you take just a few seconds to help me get his name securely in the national Heisman conversation?
